Stories Volunteers Network
Who are the volunteers?
The Stories Volunteers Network is an international group formed by young people of different ages, nationalities and cultural backgrounds, united by a strong passion for life stories, and a desire to enhance the values of a United Europe.
What do the volunteers do?
- They collect stories related to personal experiences of Europe, such as “My first experience of Europe”, or personal experiences of European historical events, and above all, stories and experiences of social change in Europe, stories that tell us about what needs to be changed, and about what we can do for a better Europe.
- They discuss the most disparate social issues and choose the topic they want to delve into by researching and collecting stories in collaboration with the international group. In this way, they actively contribute to the discussion on the topics they care about the most, while also helping to expand the conversation beyond their local and national contexts.
- Through the ‘’Learning by stories’’ section, they have the possibility to engage with life stories told by others by creating contents which start from the stories uploaded to the StoryAp archive.
- They animate the stories and bring them as a gift to the community by organising events for sharing stories, such as story readings, screenings, moments of reflection and in-depth study of issues related to the values of Europe.
- They can participate for free in training events and European meetings set up and provided for the volunteers.
Why become a Story Volunteer?
- To preserve the stories of people of all ages from oblivion.
- To contribute to the knowledge of forgotten or little-known realities.
- To explore the most relevant social issues of our time and to engage with the realities of the other countries involved.
- To contribute to social change in Europe, in defence of the values of solidarity, equality, social justice.

Andrea Ciantar
Italy - Storie di Mondi Possibili
Hello! My name is Andrea Ciantar, I am from southern Italy (Puglia), but of Greek origin, from my father, and Maltese, from my grandfather. I am a sociologist expert in autobiographical methodologies (I studied at the Free University of Autobiography in Anghiari, in Tuscany). I became passionate about autobiographical methodologies driven by the need to write about myself, and then from here I arrived at the collection of life stories, and then digital storytelling, video interviews, etc. If I could I would do nothing in life but collect life stories! This is why I wanted to create, together with other people, the StoryAP portal. I look forward to collaborating with volunteers from around the world on exciting story projects!

Antonio Tiso
Italy - Storie di Mondi Possibili
Hello world! Ciao mondo! My name is Antonio Tiso I was born in Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet, and grew up in Piemonte, an Italian region known for its great wines and cheeses that I like so much! I am a professional photographer, a photography teacher and journalist based in Rome. During the past ten years I have been working both in Italy and abroad, collaborating with multimedia companies, magazines, newspapers, NGO and non-profit organizations. My favourite projects are related to human rights, cultural themes, environmental and social issues. I go on looking for the intimate truth of the stories. Since 2008 I am member of the association Storie di Mondi Possibili.
Looking forward to collaborating with volunteers from all over the world on new story projects!

Hi there! I’m Jessica Eterno and I come from Benevento, a small town in southern Italy, but I’ve been living in Rome for almost three years now. I studied in Napoli where I got my philosophy degree and I worked and studied in England and in France. I am passionate about photography, literature and visual art in general. My passion for human thinking combined with my passion for languages has always nourished my attention and my willingness to listen. That’s why I’m thrilled about the idea of collecting and reporting stories from all around the world. I can’t wait to work with a group of volunteers from all Europe!

I am a professional educator, counselor and expert in autobiographical metododologies. I studied at the Free University of Autobiography in Anghiari, Tuscany where I learnt how to listen and write a story of a person or of a community. Alexandra Trancă
Romania - Associatia Pro-Xpert
Hello there! My name is Alexandra Trancă, and I come from a small town in the south of Romania. I am a high school student in my final year and I am hoping to study arts in the near future. For me art is important, and I think that some of the best stories are told through it. Being part of this project is a great opportunity for me to learn and study the stories of the people around us and help sharing them. I can not help but be exited about the future stories we can all share.

Alexandru Armand Valentin Volentiru
Romania - Associatia Pro-Xpert
Hello! Salut! Despite all the names on the left just call me Alex (Volentiru). I’m a very young and enthusiastic person from the south of Vâlcea county, but I tend to travel to other places to get involved in all kinds of things, since I also got a scholarship to be an exchange student abroad as an 11th grader. I’m not yet doing something for a living so I’ll just jump in and say what I’m passionate about. I like photography, and I tend to take a lot of pictures from places I visit, because that’s the best way to remember something, because a picture will bring back memories. Like anyone else, I also love music, traveling and all sort of topics I get to talk to someone about, especially when I learn about new things. I also like talking, because I talk a lot and I think I might be a good speaker, but I’m not really sure about it. I’m very excited to see how this is going to turn out and get to work with all the volunteers!
